What is Virtual NOC?

Today’s network services are complex with heterogeneous infrastructures and increasing number of value added services and features. Services are becoming increasingly mission-critical for end users and the need to provide an integrated view of network and service management is becoming vital. The cost and complexity of developing and integrating in-house network management may be too high for many NRENs and institutions.

nmaas Virtual NOC supports these users by providing an effective, efficient network and service management platform allowing for setting up a tailored network monitoring software suite based on a broad portfolio of well known applications deployable on demand via a web-based nmaas Portal.

How it works?

The nmaas platform is an open-source orchestration framework enabling on-demand application deployment in a Kubernetes cloud environment.

Everything you would expect

Easy user access and role management

User can register local accounts but preferably use the federated login option that supports eduGAIN compliant identify providers. Within the Portal appointed domain administrators are responsible for allocating suitable roles to users with their domains.

Seamless application deployment

Users can deploy any application from the application catalog in their own isolated environment. The guided deployment process takes only few clicks and a couple of minutes for the tailored application instance to be accessible under a unique domain name.

Full control over the application catalog

Administrators can specify which applications are available for deployment to what users, whitelisting only the required ones in order to conserve resources, and increase the security of the platform.

Simple extensibility

The nmaas catalog can be extended with additional applications as needed, from various subject areas. The only prerequisite is that the application can run in a container.
